Stella and Chewy’s Freeze Dried Raw Review

Stella and Chewy’s has always been one of my favorite pre-made raw brands. I love the variety of protein options that they offer and they have a good sized range of the way the raw food is prepared. They have nuggets, medallions, and patties, as well as having both frozen raw and freeze dried raw. They also recently launched their raw coated kibble line as well! One of the biggest complaints I hear about raw is that it is difficult to prepare and that it takes too much time. I believe that Stella and Chewy’s is changing that! Their food is easy to prepare and takes as much time to feed as kibble does. I was excited when I got the opportunity to work with Stella and Chewy’s and try out some of their formulas with the dogs. Stella and Chewy’s sent me two of their Freeze Dried products to try out with Gracie and Echo.

The first one was the Dandy Lamb Dinner Patties. I fed the patties as a complete meal to Echo. He really loved them! I re-hydrated the patties with a little water and I think Echo could tell I was making something special for him- he couldn’t wait for me to set his bowl down! I think these patties are very convenient to feed- especially if I ever forget to defrost a frozen raw dinner the night before. Echo does not seem to mind a freeze dried raw meal over a frozen raw meal. Stella and Chewy’s freeze dried patties can be fed as a complete meal or broken up and used as a food topper.

The next product that we tried was the Meal Mixer Superblends Grass-fed Beef. I used the Meal Mixers as a food topper on Gracie’s food. Stella and Chewy’s Meal Mixer Super Blends have super foods like blueberries, strawberries, and bananas mixed into the freeze dried raw. Gracie does not like eating dry kibble plain, however she will gobble it up if I add something to it. The Meal Mixer Superblends are the perfect something to add. Not only does Gracie think that they taste good, but they are good for her too. Stella and Chewy’s freeze dried raw is packed with nutrients from the raw meat, probiotics, antioxidants, and organic fruits and vegetables. Meal Mixers can be fed as either a food topper or as a complete meal. I would recommend re-hydrating freeze dried raw, but that is not required to feed Stella and Chewy’s to your pet.

I believe that freeze dried raw is a great option for picky pets, people who do not have a lot of freezer space, or for people who just do not have the extra time to prepare a raw meal. Stella and Chewy’s makes freeze dried raw for both dogs and cats. Dog owners have the option between larger patties like what I fed to Echo or smaller Meal Mixer bites like I fed to Gracie. For cats, they have freeze dried morsels.

Have you ever tried freeze dried raw with your pet? Tell us about it in the comments below!
